Camp Kitaki Art Contest: Camp Songs

Camp Kitaki Art Contest: Camp Songs

We are challenging anyone and everyone to create a work of art in an 8" diameter circle that represents or tells the story of a song that we sing at camp.  Maybe you want to draw the Rare Bog that rattles.  Maybe you want to create a Penguin tea party out of pipe cleaners attached to cardboard.  Maybe you want to paint your memories of singing linger at campfire.  We have a wall at camp that needs your art!

Watch the video for more details, and information on submitting your art is below!

Art Requirements:

  • Art must depict a Camp Song in some way. Camp songs include songs sung in the dining hall, at chapel, at campfire, played for flag, at the dance, or just anything that reminds you of camp!  You can check out our page at www.ymcacampkitaki.org/kitakiworldwide for some videos of camp songs for inspiration.  We will add more!
  • Art must be in an 8 Inches Diameter Circle that can be hung on a wall.  (This Video can give you some ideas on how to draw a good circle if you don't have a compass!)
  • Art can be of any medium!  Sketching, Painting, Water Color, Collage, Embroidery, Clay, Cardboard model, stained glass, mosaic, wood burning, whatever you can do!

Participant Requirements:

  • Contest is open to everyone who knows and loves camp.  Submissions will be judged in groupings divided by age.
