Meet Nat

Nat was born and raised in Lincoln. After the first time she attended Kitaki (a Halloween Overnight when she was eight), Nat was hooked. When she isn’t at camp, Nat loves to read, watch horror movies, and spend time outside doing anything that isn’t standing still.

Education and Work Experience

Nat graduated from Hamline University with degrees in English, Gender Studies, and minors in Spanish and Sociology. She worked at as a site coordinator for an after school program for resilient youth in St. Paul before returning to Lincoln to serve as a Children’s Advocate at Friendship Home. When a Program Director position opened up in 2008 Nat couldn’t resist the opportunity to return to Kitaki. She became the Associate Executive Director in 2013.

Nat and her husband, Owen, worked together as counselors and later as Unit Directors at Kitaki for six summers, so it was no surprise when they decided to hold their wedding ceremony at camp. Owen currently teaches English at Lincoln High school. They have an energetic and quirky daughter named Hattie. Nat also has two cats: Diego and Milly. The Roberts-Days (just the people, not the cats) can often be found playing hide and seek along with some campers in front of the Dining Hall before meals.

Why Kitaki?

Nat loves helping staff, SKs, and campers develop the life skills and character that will help them be successful when they leave Kitaki. As a parent raising a little one at camp, she has seen the tremendous impact living in such a supportive environment can have watching her daughter grow and learn in the high hills, and loves being able to share that gift with other Kitaki families.
