Each year Camp Kitaki hires the best role models for our summer camp programs.
- All summer positions require living on site at Camp Kitaki. All staff members live in camper cabins during employment. (Room and Board are included in the staffing agreement at no charge to you).
- Dates of employment are late May through mid August.
- All staff is expected to model the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and to commit themselves to strengthening themselves and others in spirit, mind, and body.
- We require a sincere interest in youth and the ability to work with others in a group effort.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required for all positions. We offer training if you have not already been trained.
- All jobs require applicants to be of college age unless otherwise stated.

Boys and Girls Cabin Counselors
Live in cabins with 8-10 youth. Guide them to develop and grow. Participate with campers in activity areas. Be a positive role model, sincere, and enjoy spending time with youth and in the outdoors. Great experience for those considering careers working with children.
Health SpecialistsCarry out health and safety plan under the direction of Camp Nurse. Treat minor ailments and injuries. Organize and distribute camper medications. Requires CPR and First Aid certification. Great experience for those considering careers in the medical field.
Head WranglerCare for 50 horses and maintain our 44-stall barn. Teach basic to advanced Western horsemanship in our popular Ranch Camp program. Lead trail rides. Organize and supervise wranglers. Work with kids and horses to achieve the goals of our program.

Challenge Course Staff (+Challenge Course Director)Challenge Course Staff: Facilitate Challenge Course activities; High Ropes Course, Zip Line, Initiatives Course, Jungleland Adventure course, Team Wall, and Tango Tower Climbing Tower. Maintain equipment and records. Requires adventurous and energetic leaders. Additional training required (provided by Kitaki)
Challenge Course Director: Organizes and maintain equipment and records, schedules and supervise facilitators. Prior experience a plus.
Aquatics Staff (+ Aquatics Director/Assistant Director)Aquatics Staff: Responsible for the care and operation of our camp pool and lakefront areas. Supervise aquatics activities including water slide, lake swing, and canoes and paddleboats. Teach kids how to swim, canoe, and kayak! Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certification required.
Director and Assistant Director: Maintain records, Care for mechanical systems, and supervise the aquatic staff at pool and lake. Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid certification are required. CPO license a plus.
Nature StaffShare a love of outdoors with children. Be responsible for setup and upkeep of Nature Center (including live animals); organization and teaching of outdoor awareness program to campers in a wooded area. A great internship opportunity for those considering careers in natural resources.
Crafts StaffExpress your creativity by teaching campers various camp and nature crafts and projects. Develop age-appropriate projects for Campers 7-17. Organize area, inventory, and keep accurate records.
Target Range StaffTeach, supervise, and direct Archery range with safety as the top priority. Maintain course and equipment in excellent condition.
Photo Staff Explore camp with our camera and produce a weekly picture video with digital editing technology. Photograph camp activities and participants for weekly photo CD. Must be motivated, organized, and creative. Photography, video, and computer experience a plus.
Office and Store ManagerCoordinate camp communication including mail, phone calls, and e-mail. Present quality first impression and customer service. Work with other staff and teen volunteers to operate Camp Store, manage inventory, market products, order supplies weekly, keep accurate computer records, and assist campers with accounts and purchases.
